Alex Garant is a French Canadian artist currently residing in Toronto, Ontario.
She won her first Art contest at 7 years old and graduated with honours from Art School in 2001. She then lost herself for few years through different careers: make up artist, nanny, flight attendant, office clerk and few more irrelevant money-contributing occupations.
Thankfully, nothing could keep her away from her artsy obsessions for too long and she started to create again via different channels such as illustrations, graphic design, oil painting, etc. Alex Garant is now focusing on her series honouring fighters and the MMA culture.
She created illustrations for Broken City Magazine, The Examiner and The Sports Courier.

Alex Garant is using the best premium leather paint used specially for sport equipment and police uniforms. First, a preparer is used to remove previous gloss, then premium leather acrylic paint is used to create the design and finally, a specialized acrylic finisher is applied.
*Regular normal leather wear & tear will eventually affect the equipment.
ARTWORK ON VINYL
Perfect to cherish memories and transform your retired gloves into a piece of Art. Have a portrait of yourself made on your own gloves and show it off in your living room...Artwork on vinyl is permanent however not best suited for rougher sports.
PROCESS
Send your gloves and they will be shipped back to you within 2 weeks. All pieces are hand painted and come with a certificate of authenticity from the artist.

SHIPPING
Depending on the size, the prints come rolled up in a cardboard mailing cylinder or in an envelop with a cardboard backer for protection. Originals will be mailed in boxes suited for the canvas used.
TECHNIQUES
Alex Garant uses many techniques as she enjoys working with a wide range of mediums. Most of her work is either gouache on paper or oil on canvas. None of the artwork images shown on this site had been digitally manipulated.
